Welcome to A Reluctant Mind. I'm Tazeen, and this is my personal corner of the web — a space where I write about the things that catch my attention, frustrate me, or make me think.

I've worked for Geo Television Network, one of Pakistan's major media organisations, and that experience shaped much of how I see the media landscape. I speak Urdu fluently — though I'll be the first to admit I can't teach Urdu grammar to anyone who asks.

My interests run wide, but a few themes keep surfacing here:

• Books — reviews, recommendations, and the occasional rant about what I'm reading.
• Feminism — commentary on gender, representation, and the everyday politics of being a woman.
• Political satire — because sometimes the only sane response to the news is to laugh at it.
• Media criticism — dissecting how Pakistani and international outlets cover (or ignore) the stories that matter.

This blog has been around for years, and over that time I've written about everything from Imran Khan and the PTI to Bollywood, from censorship to cricket, and from life in Canada to the absurdities of inbox spam. If you're new here, the Media and Essays sections are good places to start.
