Going the other way

While CJ Chaudhry Iftikhar, Lord Nazir (the member of House of Lords who became famous for texting while driving and being jailed for it) and every PML-N politician is out to get our erstwhile President Mr. Pervez Musharraf, city district government in Karachi decided to go the other way and named a road in North Nazimabad Town after him.

If the presence of the PSO logo is any indication, they have even managed to get a sponsor for it.

  • hahaha a mushie titled road is a grand way to make a re-entry… although wasn’t there a PSO MD who was musharraf hai or seomthing?

  • Thanks everyone for the wishes.

KK, Musharraf Hai was CEO of Unilever Pakistan. PSO is boring and can never boasts of a CEO as smart as Ms. Hai

  • where is zardari road…

  • hahahaha.. Good move

  • MQM and Pervez Musharraf: Buddies for Life!

  • sigh. i wrote a comment which blogger is telling me got phished. I’ll try to reproduce whatever i remember that i said.

“Considering i live on Younus Khan road which is just a block away from Shahid Afridi and Rameez Raja streets respectively, all i can hope is that the Pakistani cricket team improves. Considering the volatile nature of the people here, they might set fire to my neighborhood after we lose another series.

By the by, though there are roads named after cricketers who have little to do with Karachi, Naimatullah Khan sahab lives on the enigmatically named Ali street. i wonder who this particular Ali is that trumps a former mayor of the city?

  • Welcome back.
Well….let’s still assume that may be a little morale boast for our ex-presidente’ πŸ˜€

  • What happened to the last post on IDP tax? I thought I read something like that or was I dreaming….

  • lolz

  • Oh god, I almost choked with laughter. Oh Pakistan, why you do this?

  • “Rantings of a mind that is reluctant to conform and not too keen on change”

I can see that a mind that doesn’t conform is intelligent, because it is a mind which is enquiring, but why are you not too keen ‘on’ change? or do you mean you are not too keen ‘to’ change from an enquiring mind to a conforming one?

  • Are we sure this is the same Musharraf, the ex president of Pakistan who is (was?) on trial…

Says a lot for the spirit of democracy in the country; every citizen group has the right to choose their heroes πŸ™‚

…missed your wit and humor Tazeen…good to see you back.

  • Bonjour Tazeen,

To tell you the sad truth, I always liked good old Moushy so why shouln’t he have a little road somewhere?

May be you, too, my dear Tazeen will have, one day, a little road or a big street named after you.

    Georg

  • I guess Zardari is a competent replacement eh?

Double digit inflation go go go go go!

  • I wouldn’t mind if they named my road musharraf road, no matter what anyone says i still say he kiked ass!

  • good to have you back @};- hope you’re feeling better

  • if only our people would follow the sunnah of NOT glorifying rulers that much! *pipe dream*
